Privacy policy

This is a plain-English summary of how nommo handles your information, not a substitute for your own legal advice.

1. What this covers

This describes what nommo collects when you use the site, why, and what your options are. It applies whether you're a collector, a creator, or just browsing without an account. It doesn't cover the tracking pixels a creator may add to their own page, see Section 5, those are the creator's own and controlled by your own consent choice, not by nommo directly.

2. What we collect

Account info: your name, a public handle, email, and password (stored as a one-way hash, never in plain text, see our security notes if you're curious how). Profile info you choose to add: bio, avatar, cover image, city/country, website or social links. For creators specifically: payout account details (handled by Stripe or Flutterwave directly, see Section 4, not stored on nommo's own servers), performing-rights-organization info if you add it, and whatever you upload (the work itself, its title, credits, AI-usage disclosure). For everyone: purchase, lending, gift, and resale records tied to your account, and a small device registration (used to enforce the three-device streaming limit in our Terms, not for tracking you elsewhere).

3. How we use it

To run the actual product: process a purchase, deliver a file, enforce a lending period, pay a creator out, show you what you own. To keep the platform working: rate-limiting abuse, investigating a reported violation of our Terms, responding to a support request you send us. We don't sell your data to third parties, and we don't use your account information to build an ad-targeting profile of you. We also don't use your account or activity data to train AI models, ours or anyone else's; see the Terms for creators for the same commitment about the creative work itself.

4. Payment processors

nommo uses Stripe and, for creators and collectors in Nigeria, Ghana, and greater Africa, Flutterwave to process payments. Neither your full card number nor your bank account details ever touch nommo's own servers, that information goes directly to the processor, which is a PCI-compliant payment company in its own right with its own privacy practices. nommo receives confirmation that a payment succeeded and the amount, not your raw payment details.

5. Cookies and tracking pixels

nommo's own core functionality (login, checkout, streaming, the radio) doesn't rely on advertising or analytics cookies. Some creators choose to add their own Meta Pixel, Google Analytics, TikTok Pixel, or X Pixel to their public nommo page, to measure their own marketing, the same way they might on a personal website. We only load a creator's pixel on their page if you've said it's okay, using the accept/decline choice on the banner shown on your first visit. You can change your mind at any time by clearing your browser's local storage for this site, which brings the banner back.

6. How long we keep it

We keep account and purchase records for as long as your account exists, purchase history in particular needs to persist indefinitely since "buy once, own forever" is the whole point, a deleted purchase record would mean losing access to something you paid for. If you close your account, we remove profile information that isn't needed for a legal or financial reason (an active purchase or payout record, for instance) within a reasonable period.

7. Your choices

You can access, correct, or update most of your account information directly from your account settings. To request a copy of your data, ask us to delete it, or ask a question about how it's handled, contact us at the address in Section 9, we'll respond and, where we're able to honor it without breaking something you're relying on (like an active purchase), act on it.

8. Age

nommo is intended for people 18 and older. We ask for an affirmation of this at signup. If you believe a minor has created an account, contact us and we'll look into it.

9. Contact

Questions about this policy, or a request about your own data, can be sent to hello@nommo.live.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as nommo grows. Material changes will be posted here with an updated date; continued use of nommo after a change means you accept the update.
