The cultural home of nommo, held apart from the platform that runs it.

The Institute is the cultural home, it holds the mission in perpetuity, independent of the platform, and exists to safeguard why nommo was built in the first place, not just how it runs.”
Why It's Separate
A platform optimises for what keeps it running. A cultural mission needs somewhere that answers to something else.
The Institute is not a marketing arm of nommo Technologies, and it is not philanthropy bolted onto a product, it is governance: the part of the ecosystem responsible for purpose, held apart from the part responsible for infrastructure. nommo Technologies builds the systems that make collection, provenance, stewardship, creator ownership, and authenticated digital autographs possible. The Institute is what those systems are in service of.
Today that separation is organisational and editorial, not legal. nommo is in beta and is operated by nommo Creative Lab, a registered business. nommo Technologies and the Institute are each to be registered in their own right once the beta is over. Two separate bodies is the standard nommo is building itself toward, in public, not something already true. Read more on the Continuity policy.
The Faculties
Creative & Financial Literacy
Creators shouldn't need a lawyer or an accountant to understand what they're owed. This faculty is the home for that education, plain-language explanations of royalties, rights, and ownership, placed at the point someone actually needs them, not buried in a policy document.

Kept Where It Cannot Be Rewritten
Every work collected on nommo enters a record of who made it and who has held it. That record is sealed daily against a public timestamp outside nommo’s control, so its history can be checked without taking anyone’s word for it, including nommo’s own.
